After being burned, losing his head, arm and leg and finally shot down,
the roasted remains of Chucky are taken to the Play Pals toy factory (how
they got the doll back is unknown) and put together in order to stop the
bad publicity of the doll. But when the electric eyeball machine gives
away an electric shock, it kills one of the employees and resurrects Chucky.
The boss of the toy company tells his assistant to get rid of the doll.
He does as he's told and throws Chucky in his car and rides home. But the
homicidal doll forces him to take a different route and drive him back
to an old friend of his: Andy Barclay.
Andy's mother has been sent to an mental hospital, and her son has been
placed in a foster home. Andy seems to have a nice time in his new home,
until Chucky arrives, planning to do what he failed doing in the original:
transfer his soul into Andy's body.
He desperately tries to warn his foster parents about the diabolical
doll, but not surprisingly they don't believe him. But as the body count
rises, Andy's teenage foster sister Kyle realizes what danger Andy is in
and together they must try to put Chucky back to his eternal rest. But
don't underestimate Chucky, cause this evil doll takes a lot of damage
before he finally goes down.
A very good and entertaining film. The original was more of a serious
thriller while this one had a stronger approach for the slasher genre.
Filled with great black humour and Chucky delivers many hilarious one-liners.
If you loved part 1, you'll probably find this as a decent movie as well.
Young Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay is more than enough hero for kids who
may watch this film when their parents not present. |
