Nothing like waitintg 'til the last minute for Sony to announce MIDNIGHT
SCREENINGS of Resident Evil: Extinction opening in theatres everywhere
this Friday! Furthermore, there will be over 150 screens with 12:01am
showings tomorrow night, but even that is a pretty small number for a franchise
release. Also, Bloody
Disgusting has a very sizable set report you can check out, but Dread
Central has the very first review of the film! They give it a
3 out 5. So, if the third installment in the video game-to-film franchise
stirs your interest, you'll certainly have the chance to see it this weekend.
The film stars the returning Milla Jovovich, and is directed by Russell
Mulcahy (Highlander, The Shadow), and written and produced by Paul
W.S. Anderson.

On September 21st, the third entry into the feature film adaptation
of the popular video game franchise will hit theatres. Resident
Evil: Extinction has long been rolling film and moving into post-production.
The film's
trailer hit in late February, and some concept
art and numerous stills are online (the latter are available in the
multimedia
archive). Horror-Movies.ca
obtained the first on-set footage documenting a day in the life of a Resident
Evil zombie. Other behind-the-scenes clips can be found on YouTube.
To put it simply, it looks like they've gone all Mad Max for this
sequel, but let's see if it goes Beyond Thunderdome.
This new film picks up where the last film left off. Alice (Milla
Jovovich), now in hiding in the Nevada desert, once again joins forces
with Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr) and L.J. (Mike Epps), along with new survivors
Claire (Ali Larter), K-Mart (Spencer Locke) and Nurse Betty (Ashanti) to
try to eliminate the deadly virus that threatens to make every human being
undead... and to seek justice. Since being captured by the Umbrella Corporation,
Alice has been subjected to biogenic experimentation and becomes genetically
altered, with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These
skills, and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive. Directed
by Russell Mulcahy (Highlander, The Shadow), written and produced
by Paul W.S. Anderson. |
