FREDDY vs. JASON Written by: Chad Curtis Fade in on a series of quick shots. A manÕs feet in shabby work shoes walks through a dingy dark room. A familiar hand comes into view reaching for something. The hand grabs onto something wrapped in a white cloth. {Another Angle} The man sets the cloth on a worker bench and unravels it. Staring back at us is FreddieÕs glove. (Classic version) The man takes the glove and puts it on. Suddenly the glove strikes forward. A horrible screeching sound is heard as the claws scratch along a pipe. Camera pans out so we see Freddy in full view. We see the familiar red and green sweater and the dirty brown hat. Everything looks to be the same, but itÕs not. CLOSE UP FREDDIEÕS FACE The face is scarier looking, pieces of flesh go missing, we can actually see the bone. A pained look appears on his face. Fade Out The Nightmare theme plays as we roll main titles Ext. Elm Street-Night A girl walks alone up the street heading for home. The street is still damp from the afternoon rain. A thick fog is moving in. The girl is in her early twenties. She has a cigarette dangling from her lips she is digging through her purse searching for a light. A noise startles her she turns around to investigate. The cigarette falls from her lips and hits the ground. She doesnÕt notice. She scans the area but is unable to locate the source of the sound. Another sound from behind her she jumps and turns wildly. A fearful look on her face The girl starts to walk faster now trying to get home. A horrible scratching noise stops the girl in her tracks. The girl desperately searches for the source. Girl (Frightened voice) WhoÕs there? Voice (OS) (Through Heavy Breathing) Freddy! The girl is scared out of her wits now and decides to run all out for home. An aluminum trashcan spills over and rolls out onto the street stopping the girl in her tracks. The thick fog is making it very hard to see anything. She struggles but again sees nothing. Girl (Perturbed) Dammit! Where are you? Again the sound of the horrible screeching. The girl begins to cry and she lets out a horrible scream. Voice (OS) Shhhhhh! The voice was right behind her now. The girlÕs eyes are big now as she turns slowly to face her fear. The girl is staring back at the man who is just inches away. She looks around at the houses that are all dark hoping someone will help her. Freddy grabs the girl by the arm as the girl screams for her life. Freddy violently shoves the blades of the glove into the girlÕs stomach. The girl stops screaming and begins to go into convulsions. Freddy takes the glove and pulls up cutting through the girl. She dies in his arms. Freddy drops the body as he starts to convulse. He moans as if in pain, then begins to laugh a slow dark sinister laugh. Ext. Elm Street-Later Cops stand over the body of the young girl. A few cops are keeping the onlookers at bay, while a photographer snaps pictures of the body. A man wearing a long brown trench coat and suit and tie approaches. A uniformed cop walks up to the man. Officer Lieutenant Myers I am OffÉ Man (Cutting him off) What happened here? Officer Well Lieutenant see for yourself. The lieutenant walks over to the body and takes a look, the officer stands at a distance. The medical examiner stands on the other side of the photographer who is still taking pictures. Lieutenant You done with her? M.E Yeah. I will let you know when I finish the autopsy lieutenant. He nods his head saying ok. Lieutenant Get her out of her. The lieutenant gets up and walks away, the uniformed officer rejoins him. Lieutenant I donÕt guess anyone saw anything. Officer If they did theyÕre not saying. Lieutenant ThatÕs all this town needs. Officer Excuse me sir? The lieutenant takes a few minutes as if gathering himself. Lieutenant Tomorrow is Friday the 13th isnÕt it? Well that day seems to always bring out the wack-oÕs. Officer You think itÕs related? Lieutenant I wish I knew. Cut to: FRIDAY THE 13th Ext. School parking lot-day We see a large High School and a large crowd filling out. A group of teens gather in front of a jet-black pathfinder. Three girls and four guys sit around talking. Carl sits on the hood of the pathfinder arm around Kate. Carl is the athletic type. The captain of the basketball team. Kate is very pretty but shy. She has long flowing brown hair and green eyes. Carl So are we all going over to MikeÕs tonight? Steve stands on the other side of Carl and Kate. Becky stands next to him holding his hand. Steve is also on the basketball team but is more of a prep than a joke. Becky is a well dressed, and very popular. She is the sure bet for Prom queen. Steve Yeah we will be there. He looks at Becky and kisses her on the lips. Carl What about you Kevin? You and Jamie going to be there? Kevin and Jamie stand in the back away from everyone else. Kevin and Jamie are both very quiet, they are not a couple but have known each other forever. Kevin Yeah we think so. Carl Alright then I will see you all around 8. Mike is popular for the fact that his parents are always on the road for business. He isnÕt a prep and doesnÕt really care to much about his appearance. Mike Bring food! Carl walks away from the front of the truck and over to the passenger side door. He unlocks it and opens the door for Kate. She gets in and he shuts the door behind her. Carl gets in the truck starts it up and pulls off. Int. Truck Carl Why are you so quiet Kate? Kate looks at him then back out the window. Kate That girl who was killed last night. I knew her. Her name was Natalie. Carl She lived next door to you didnÕt she? Kate Yes. She just finished up her two years at community and was just about to leave for the University. Carl You ok? Kate I donÕt know. My mom wants me to go to the funeral on Monday and thatÕs kinda wiggin me out. She stares back out of the window again. Carl If you want me to go with you I will. Kate Thanks Carl but that wonÕt be necessary. Carl Well if you change your mind let me know. Carl pulls into KateÕs driveway and parks. Carl Maybe you should try and get some sleep. I will call you at 5 to make sure you are awake. Kate Yeah I think I need to. They kiss and she gets out and heads inside. Int. KateÕs Bedroom ŠLater that afternoon Kate is lying in her bed asleep. KATEÕS DREAM ItÕs just after midnight in her dream and it has just started to rain. She finds herself in a cemetery. She begins to walk trying to find her way out when she stumbles across a marker for where Natalie will be buried. She begins to panic and starts to cry. She runs away and then runs up on a hole. She looks down only to see herself staring back at her. She is lying in a casket, dead. Freddy grabs her by the shoulder. The blades of the right hand pierce her shoulder slightly. Seeing Freddy we see he is back to his normal self. Freddy How do you like it? Kate (Terrified) What do you want? Freddy I want to know how you like your new resting place. Kate stands in fear, and starts to cry uncontrollably. Kate (Through the tears) Fuck You! Freddy You know how much work I put into this? Some people just donÕt care about other peopleÕs feelings. Kate Who are you? Freddy IÕm death! Say goodbye Bitch! Kate (Screaming) Noooo! Freddy throws back his claw ready to strike, he swings andÉ Int. KateÕs room-same time A knock at KateÕs door awakens her from her nightmare. Her mom enters. KateÕs Mom Are you ok? Kate Yeah I am ok mom. Mom Carl just called he wanted to make sure you were up. Kate looks at the clock it reads. 4:51 Kate Thanks mom. Her mom leaves and Kate gets out of bed still startled from the dream. She looks at her shirt and sees there is blood on it. Kate suddenly feels glad that Carl didnÕt wait till 5 to call. Ext. Elm Street-Early Night A uniformed officer walks down the empty street making his rounds. The sound of thunder is heard as it has just started to rain a little. The cop stops in his tracks when he sees what appears to be a little girl jumping rope. He makes his way towards the little girl. The little girl notices him and takes off into the woods. Cop Shit! The cop takes off after her. Into the woods now he starts his search but is unable to find anything. SUDDENLY He is grabbed. Cop What the fuck? The cop is then lifted into the air. He struggles to get free but is unable to. THEN His body is pushed through a branch of a tree. Blood begins to flow out of his mouth and the body shakes wildly. The cop then dies. Then we hear the sound of Freddy again moaning in pain. We see him now bent over at the waist. He straightens again and then a hand rips through his chest. Again Freddy moans in pain. The hand reaches up to FreddieÕs face and rips off the flesh revealing JasonÕs face. A very loud moan and then FreddieÕs body is totally replaced by Jason. The red and green sweater and the dirty brown hat along with the glove lie quietly on the ground. The garments then burst into flame and disappear. FreddieÕs laugh can be heard but he is nowhere to be seen. Then lying on the ground is JasonÕs mask. He picks it up and puts it on. We get a full look at Jason once again. We then hear the first 5 cords of the Nightmare theme followed immediately by the Chi chi chi Cha cha cha. Int. MikeÕs House-Night A thunderstorm has moved into the area and it has started to rain hard. The storm has knocked out the lights. The seven of them are in the living room. Candles the only light they have. Mike is sitting on a chair snacking on some chips. Carl and Kate are lying together on the couch. Kevin and Jamie are lying on the floor beside Steve and Becky. Mike I canÕt believe this shit. What are we supposed to do now? Kevin Well most of us are still wet from coming in out of the rain so I say we build a fire to get warmed up. Mike There is some wood in the closet out back. Someone want to give me a hand? Kevin Yeah IÕll help you. They exit to get the wood. Becky Anyone know any scary stories? Carl feels Kate flinch at the suggestion. Steve How about the story of this towns most infamous serial killer. Becky Sounds good. Tell it. Carl I donÕt know guys. Steve Relax Carl Kate will protect you. Carl looks down at Kate who the looks up at him. He whispers to her. Carl ItÕll be alright, IÕm here. Mike and Kevin re-enter with wood in hand. Int. House-Minutes later The fire is burning bright in the fireplace as Steve begins his story. All eyes are on him. Steve His name is Fred Krueger. He was a child murderer. He was captured by the police but he was freed on a technicality. The parents got mad and decided to take matters into theyÕre own hands. They managed to track him down and they torched him. Years later Freddy came back. He got his revenge by taking the children of the people who killed him. The strange part is he haunted your dreams. If he killed you in your dream then you were dead for real. He used this glove that had knifes for fingers as his weapon. Not long ago his daughter was able to kill him. Some still wonder if he is really dead. Kate begins to shake a little in horror of what she is hearing. Jamie You really believe that bullshit? Steve ItÕs not bullshit, it happened. Int. House-Later The power has come back on now. Kevin Jamie and I are hungry we are going to go get some food. Anyone want anything? Ext. Food Mart The rain is still coming down hard. There are a few cars in the parking lot so Kevin parks on the side of the building. Kevin and Jamie get out of the car and go inside. They come back out with bags in hand. Kevin opens the trunk and they set the bags inside. THEN From behind someone grabs Kevin. Jamie screams and tries to get the man to let go. INSTEAD The man takes his hand and snaps KevinÕs neck. The girl screams again and tries to get inside the car. She opens the door and tries to get in but before she can the killer slams the door on her leg over and over. He then pulls her out of the car and shoves her head through the glass. The girlÕs screaming brings a few of the customers out of the store. A burly man and a woman stand watching the horrible ordeal. Man Call the cops. The woman doesnÕt move. Man DO IT! The woman runs back into the store to make the call. The man makes his way towards the killer. Man Let her go? The killer leaves the girl alone and looks up. ITÕS JASON Jason walks over to the man who is now backpedaling. Jason catches him. He grabs the man and throws him through the front of the store. GLASS SHATTERS Pieces fall to the floor. Jason then walks over to the man who is still breathing and grabs and piece of the broken glass then he sticks it in the mans throat. Jason looks up at the woman on the phone and at the man behind the counter. Fear frozen on both of their faces. Jason walks over to the deli counter and hops over it. He grabs a giant knife from the deli counter takes another glance at the two people and leaves from which he came. Int. MikeÕs House-Moments Later Steve, Mike and Becky are all sitting in the living by the fire. Ext. Porch Carl and Kate are sitting outside on the porch. The rain has let up a little and the moon is trying desperately to make itself seen through the clouds. Carl So are you going to tell me whatÕs wrong? She stares up at him for a second wondering weather or not to tell him or not. Kate That guy Steve was talking about, the Freddy guy, I had a dream about him after school today. Carl What do you mean you had a dream about him? How do you know it was him? Kate He had the red and green shirt and the dirty brown hat and he had the glove with knifes for fingers. He had them ready to strike and was about to when my mom woke me up telling me you called. Carl stares at her trying to be reassuring. Kate (Cont.) After my mom left I looked down and there was blood on my shirt. Carl From what? Kate When my back was turned he grabbed me with both hands by the shoulders. The bladesÉ Instead of telling him she decides to show him. She is wearing a sweater and pulls it down by the collar just enough to show Carl the cuts. Four small cuts run up and down on her shoulder. Carl looks at her sympathetically. Carl Jesus! Carl is unable to speak. Kate IÕve never had a dream feel that real. (Beat) I can still feel his breath on my neck. He was that close. Carl It was just a dream Kate. Kate I think it was more than that. I think he killed Natalie. Carl What? Kate I donÕt know, I canÕt prove it itÕs just a hunch. (Beat) I swear I could sense her in my dream, I could sense her fear of this man. Carl Natalie wasnÕt asleep when she died baby. Like Steve said he can only get to you in your dreams. Kate I know thatÕs what doesnÕt make sense but I feel I am right. She looks at him and can tell he thinks sheÕs crazy. Kate You think IÕm crazy donÕt you? Carl Of course, but I still love you. He leans over to try to kiss her but she backs away shyly. Carl Look itÕs going to be ok, I will make sure that nothing happens to you. Looking directly into her eyes. Carl (Cont.) I promise you! Kate stands up and starts to head back inside when a number of police cars drive by sirens blaring. Kate and Carl stare at them. She looks back down at Carl who glances back up at her. Kate DonÕt promise me. Ext. Food Mart Again cops flood the scene. ItÕs much like it was before with cops keeping people at bay and a photographer taking pictures of the scene. The Lieutenant is busy asking questions to the two people left behind. A sketch artist is busy drawing a composite of what they say they saw. Lieutenant Now, are you sure about that? They both shake their heads yes in agreement. Lieutenant (Cont.) Is that all you can remember? Once again they nod their heads yes. He motions for the sketch artist to hold up the drawing. A hand drawn picture of Jason is staring back at us. The two of them both react with fear at the sight of the drawing. Lieutenant All right thanks for your help. The lieutenant walks over to a plain clothed Detective. The Detective takes the sketch from the LieutenantÕs hand. Detective What is this a joke? Lieutenant Yeah, but this picture is A picture of Jason Voorhees. Detective The serial killer from Crystal Lake? Lieutenant Yeah. Detective DidnÕt he drown in that lake? And his mom became possessed and killed off all of the counselors for revenge? Lieutenant Right but she was killed and he came back from the dead to pick up where his mom left off. Detective Yeah I know the story I hear about it every Friday the 13th. (Beat) So we have a copycat on our hands? Lieutenant ThatÕs my guess. Detective Shit. What do we do about it? Lieutenant We find this asshole before we find another corpse. The lieutenant starts to rub his eyes. Lieutenant Issue a citywide curfew. I donÕt anyone out tonight. Int. MikeÕs House The lights are turned down as they are all sitting in the dark watching a movie. Someone knocks at the front door. Mike gets up to answer it. He opens the door and on the other side stand two police officers. Officer 1 Are you parents home son? Mike No sir Officer 2 So youÕre alone? Mike No I have some of my friends with me. Officer 1 We are issuing a city wide curfew for tonight. You and your friends are not to go anywhere, is that understood? Mike Yes sir. WhatÕs this about? Officer 2 Just make sure you donÕt go anywhere. The cops leave and Mike shuts the front door. He turns around and sees everyone standing there. Carl What was all that about? Mike I really donÕt know. Kate Where are Kevin and Jamie? Mike Well they were probably told to go home. Becky Someone should call them and find out. Mike IÕll call. Mike walks into the kitchen and grabs the phone off the cradle. He dials KevinÕs number first. A BUSY SIGNAL He hangs up the phone and dials JamieÕs number. Again he gets a busy signal. Mike walks back into the room. Mike All I got were busy signals. He can see a look of concern on all of their faces. Mike ItÕs almost time for the news maybe we can find out why the cops are so freaked out. Mike walks over and turns the television on. Mike Shit itÕs already started. They all stare at the television. Becky Hey thatÕs the Food Mart where Kevin and Jamie went. Mike Shh, Listen. Reporters voice Éto repeat, three people were found dead tonight, brutally murdered. Police are holding their names until the parents of the victims can be notified. We will have more on this story whenÉ Mike switches the television off. They all look shocked at the news. Mike I think itÕs time for us to figure out whatÕs going on. Steve How are we supposed to do that? Mike We go up to the Food Mart and see whatÕs going on. Becky What about curfew? Mike Fuck curfew! Carl I donÕt know Mike this doesnÕt sound like a verÉ Kate IÕll go. Mike Good then thatÕs two, who else is with us? Steve IÕm in. Carl Me too. Becky Well IÕm not staying here by myself. Mike Good letÕs go. Carl IÕll drive. Steve We canÕt drive the cops will be stopping all the cars on the road. Carl Your saying we walk? Steve ItÕs not that far. We can go along the edge of the woods and no one will see us. Kate Then what are we waiting for? Ext. Woods The five of them stand at the edge of the woods looking across the street at the Food Mart. A few cops remain and yellow police tape maps out the area. Steve What now? Mark I donÕt know. I didnÕt expect the cops to still be here. Carl Shit, so we came out here for nothing? Kate Not for nothing, look. She points over to the store. Kate (Cont.) ThatÕs KevinÕs car being towed away. Carl Oh shit! Becky I want to get out of here. Mike My GOD Kevin and JamieÉ He struggles to finish the sentence. Carl Come on we have to get out of here. Int. MikeÕs house-After Midnight Mike I donÕt know about you guys but I am tired, I am going upstairs to get some sleep. Kate You think thatÕs a good idea? Mike I donÕt really know but I do know that I need it. The couch pulls out so two of you can sleep on that and there is a futon down in the basement if you want to bring it up. Steve Thanks. Goodnight man. Mike Goodnight. Int. MikeÕs Bedroom Mike is asleep in his bed. MIKEÕS DREAM Mike walks alone on a dark street. To the right and the left of the street an empty void. SUDDENLY The ground begins to shake. Mike loses his balance falling to the ground. He looks up just in time to see what appears to be wood flying at him. In fact wood is flying from all directions. The wood starts to connect together forming something. Mike covers his head with his hands and tries to avoid being hit. The noise of the wood flying about sounds like a helicopter overhead. Then the noise stops. Mike lifts his head and sees it. A very familiar house stands in the darkness. The dilapidated house is that of NancyÕs. The front door of the house creeks open slowly. Mike doesnÕt move. Then from behind Freddy puts his left hand on MikeÕs shoulder. Mike jumps and turns to face him. Mike Oh shit! Mike immediately tries to get away so her runs towards the house. Freddy watches till he seeÕs Mike go inside. The front door of the house then slams shut! Int. FreddieÕs House Mike turns towards the door wondering what made it slam shut. The door then disappears and Mike realizes he is stuck inside. ItÕs very dark and dingy and very hard to make tracks through. Behind him flame starts to burn the wall. The flame burns a shape of a door. Realizing there is no other place to go he opens the door and carefully heads down the stairs. Int. Boiler room Inside the giant boiler room, steam rises from the boiler and the pipes. The heat is incredible. Mike canÕt stand anymore he tries to turn and leave but the stairs are gone. Mike scans the area looking for a way out. He starts to walk around when he hears a horrible scratching sound. The sound is getting closer and closer to Mike. Mike walks to a section where chains are dangling loosely. He weaves his way through them and on the other side TWO BODIES HANG FROM THE CEILING Mike Shit! Mike turns to run away but is meet head on by Freddy. Freddy is breathing heavily and has a slight smirk on his face. Steam shoots out from the pipes every few seconds creating a very eerie feel. He takes his blades and scrapes them along the pipes. The horrible screeching. Mike What the fuck are you? Freddy begins to laugh. SUDDENLY Claws extract ready to strike. Freddy You better make your peace with GOD piggie. He grabs Mike and pulls him in, the quickly thrust the blades into his stomach. Freddy laughs as the lifeless body of Mike falls to the ground. Int. Living room-Seconds later Kate and Becky are lying on the pulled out couch bed. Kate lies awake unable to sleep. Carl and Steve sleep quietly on the floor wrapped up in sleeping bags. A single tip of a blade sneaks up through the bed ripping the sheets slightly. A second tip and a third, slowly make their way out. Then the fourth also rips through. Kate who is awake doesnÕt notice. The blades run slowly down the sheets like they are dividing Kate and Becky. SUDDENLY BeckyÕs half of the bed dips down and she falls into a giant hole. Kate meanwhile just lies there. We now know this is BeckyÕs nightmare. Becky finds herself in a dimly lit hallway. The walls are stained and rugged. Both the walls and the floor have holes everywhere. Becky is frozen, unable to move. The only light in the hallway starts to go awry, the light dims and brightens and dims and brightens over and over. Sparks can be seen coming from the light. A figure stands at the other end of the hallway. We are unable to make how who it is. Voice (OS) (Echoing throughout) Beeeeccckkkkyyy! The sound of footsteps echo through the hall now getting closer and closer. Becky is still unable to move. The man is now in view. Freddy stands in front of Becky taping his pointer finger blade up against his chest. Slowly, TAPÉTAPÉTAPÉTAP Becky tries to scream, tries to do anything but is unable to. Freddy then takes the blade and rubs it gently up against the side of her face. Becky flinches and moves her head back. Freddy You look good enough to eat. FREDDY DISAPPEARS Becky looks around searching for him. She begins to run down to the other end of the hallway but is stopped by the shaking of the floor. A tongue shoots out of one of the holes in the ground and grabs Becky. She screams a horrible scream that could wake the dead. The giant tongue drags her across the floor and sucks her into the hole. MOMENT OF SILENCE The camera pans closer to the hole SUDDENLY BeckyÕs body is shot back up through the hole. Blood stains the ground and different parts of her are scattered about. A purely evil laugh is all we hear. Int. Living room-same time On the pull out bed Kate still lies awake. Beside her Becky starts to wheezing and choking. Kate jumps up to check on her and sees the blood. Kate screams waking up Carl, and Steve. They jump up and both look down at BeckyÕs body. Carl What the fuck happened? Steve gets up and runs into the kitchen to call the police. Kate I donÕt know I heard her making noises and when I checked on her I saw the blood. Carl looks at her eyes wide open in complete disbelief. Carl Oh fuck! Oh fuck! Oh fuck! Carl stands up and starts pacing around. Carl We need to wake Mike up. He runs up the stairs. Int. Hallway Carl walks over to MikeÕs bedroom door and knocks impatiently. Nothing Carl then just opens the door and sees the body. Mike is lying off way out of his bed; he is also covered with blood. A puddle has formed beneath him. Carl stumbles slightly unable to keep his composure. He leans against the door for support and makes his way back into the hallway. He leans against the wall and takes a deep breath before heading back downstairs. Int. Living Room Steve The police and an ambulance are on theyÕre way. Carl (From the stairs) Mike is dead too. FADE OUT EXT. Back Porch-MikeÕs house Carl, Kate and Steve sit outside as the cops are busy working inside. Steve Someone want to tell me what the fuck happened to them? Kate Do you believe that story you told earlier about Freddy? Steve looks at her uneasily. Steve Why? Kate Do you? Steve Why are you asking me this? Kate looks at Carl for reassurance but he has his head buried in his hands. Kate HeÕs real. I had a dream about him after school yesterday. Steve Wait, you what? Steve stands up and starts to walk away. He goes to the back door and glances through the glass and watches the cops work. He runs his hands through his hair and walks back over to Kate and Carl. Steve Are you saying Freddy did that? Kate Yes. Steve ItÕs a bullshit ghost story like everyone said Kate. (Whispering to himself) ItÕs a bullshit ghost story. Kate No itÕs not Steve heÕs real and heÕs after us. Steve Do you believe this shit Carl? Carl looks up he has tears in his eyes. Carl Well if itÕs not Krueger then itÕs one of us. IÕd like to think itÕs not one of us. Steve Great so we are up against a demon that cannot die. Not quite the comfort I was looking for. Kate We need to find away to stop him. Steve How the hell are we supposed to do that? The slide door opens causing all of them to turn. The lieutenant is standing in the doorway. Lieutenant I am going to need to talk to all of you one on one to try to figure out what happened here tonight. Anyone want to go first? He pauses waiting for a reply. Lieutenant (Cont.) Ok, then how about you? WhatÕs your name? Voice (OS) Carl Lieutenant Ok Carl follow me will you? Carl gets up and follows the Lieutenant back into the house. Int. MikeÕs house-later Steve separates himself from the lieutenant. Lieutenant If you remember anything make sure to let me know. Steve nods his head and rejoins his friends. Steve You guys feel like he was tailoring our jail suits? Carl Can you blame him? We look guilty as hell to me and I know we are innocent. Kate You guys we have to put an end to this. Steve Ok what do you have in mind? Kate Well we are going to need to pick up a few things. Carl Like what? Kate Weapons! Carl How are we supposed to get out of the house? Curfew is still in effect and the police will definitely be watching us. Kate We sneak out the same way we did last night. Carl Your starting to scare me. Steve OK so lets say that we do get out again where do we get the weapons? LONG PAUSE Carl My father has a shotgun. Kate OK letÕs get that. We will need some other weapons too. Carl Like what? What good will weapons do us anyway? ItÕs A damn nightmare! Steve We pull him out of the dream! Carl What? Steve ThatÕs the way the story ends. He was pulled out of the dream where he is venerable and he wasÉ (Pause) Éblown up. Kate All right then we know what we have to do. Carl What makes you think it will work if it didnÕt work before? Steve What else do you suggest we do? Carl Fine we pull him out then. Kate We will get the weapons tonight. FADE OUT Ext. Edge of woods-Night The three of them are sneaking along the path at the edge of the woods. Carl is holding his fathers shot gun. Behind them a branch breaks. Steve stops to listen. Steve Guys, you hear something? Carl No, come on! Steve rejoins the group. Another branch breaks louder this time. That time everyone hears the noise. They all stop and turn around slowly. Standing there is JASON The silver killing mask of JasonÕs is looking back at us now. A long shiny knife is being held tightly in his right hand. Steve SHIT! RUN! They all begin to run fast. Behind them Jason follows. Steve Do you know how to use that shotgun Carl? Carl Yeah. Steve Well now would be a good time to prove it. Carl stops and cocks the shotgun. He holds it up pointing it in the direction of Jason. He looks through the scope trying to make sure he gets a good shot off. Finally Jason is in view. BOOM! Carl cocks the barrel BOOM! The two shots do nothing to slow Jason. Carl Holy shit you see that? Steve Yeah and I donÕt want to see it again. IÕm getting out of here. They turn and start running again. Jason stops dead in his tracks. He takes the knife and throws it. The knife goes flying through the air and stick in CarlÕs back. Carl lets out a moan and falls to his knees. Then he falls over. The knife sticking straight up out of his back. Kate (Screaming) CARL!!!!!! Kate stops and runs back to Carl. Jason is fast approaching. She bends down to check on Carl. She is crying uncontrollably now. KATE Carl! CARL! Please answer me! Carl doesnÕt move. Steve runs over to Kate. Steve Come on we need to get out of here. Kate doesnÕt want to leave Carl but Jason is just inches away now. Steve Come on! He grabs her and they begin to run again. They run a few feet and realize they are back at MikeÕs house. They run inside and try to lock themselves inside. Jason grabs the knife out of CarlÕs back and continues to go after them. Int. Car-Same time Voice (CB) Shots fired in the vacÉ The man behind the wheel is Lieutenant Myers. He reaches down and turns off the CB. He turns on the police light and siren and speeds to the sound of the shots. Int. MikeÕs House Jason busts his way through the glass door sending pieces of glass all about. He steps inside. Kate and Steve search frantically for something to use as a weapon but are unable to come up with anything. Jason now stands inside the doorway. He looks at them and they look back fear all over their face. Kate What now? Steve We pray! Jason approaches them as they begin to back away. Kate and Jason make a run for the front door. Once again Jason throws his knife at them this time it sticks in the wall. It is able to startle Kate and Steve long enough for Jason to be on top of them. Jason then lifts Steve off of the ground by his neck. He holds him in the air for a few seconds then throws him hard up against the wall. With the force Steve goes flying through the wall to his death. Kate screams in horror! Cut to: Ext. Outside Lieutenant Myers runs to the back and comes across CarlÕs body. He bends down and checks for a pulse then stands up and continues. He comes to the back of MikeÕs house and sees the broken glass laying on the ground. Lieutenant This is lieutenant Myers requesting backupÉ Cut to: Int. MikeÕs house Kate is trapped. Jason has her right where he wants her. He takes the knife out of the wall and is about to strike whenÉ Female Voice (OS) Jason no! Jason turns around to see HIS MOTHER Jason looks confused cocking his head to one side. JasonÕs Mother Come here son. Jason doesnÕt move. JasonÕs mother walks towards her son. Mother Give me a hug son! She leans in and hugs Jason THEN Close up on JasonÕs motherÕs right hand ItÕs FreddieÕs glove. The glove is then shoved into JasonÕs stomach. Freddy begins to laugh but Jason is unfazed by it all. He pushes Freddy away with his left hand. Freddy hits the deck hard. Jason begins to approach and for the first time we see real fear in the eyes of Freddy. Jason takes the knife and stabs Freddy with it over and over. Kate stunned by the events finally snaps out of it and starts to run out the back. Lieutenant Myers is standing there waiting for her. She is crying. Lieutenant Woah, take it easy! WhatÕs wrong? The lieutenant looks up to see Jason standing there looking at him. Lieutenant RUN! GO! Kate screams again, loud enough to wake the dead. Cut to: Ext. CarlÕs body Carl lifts his head suddenly and tries to get to his feet but is unable to. He tries to call out to Kate but is unable to speak. Int. House Lieutenant Myers pulls out his handgun and empties his clip firing at Jason. The bullets push back Jason slightly but nothing more. Close up on FREDDY He vanishes before our eyes. Angle back on JASON He continues to walk towards Lieutenant Myers and Kate when JASON STOPS It looks like Jason is in pain. THEN FreddieÕs gloved hand comes ripping out of JasonÕs stomach. The gloved hand reaches up pulling off JasonÕs killing mask revealing his face. The gloved hand continues tearing Jason apart. After a few minutes nothing is left of Jason except pieces of his body and his clothes and mask. Lieutenant Myers and Kate both stand shocked. Standing in JasonÕs place is FREDDY A little laugh comes from Freddy as he approaches Kate. Myers has his gun drawn again ready to fire. Freddy with no fear approaches anyway. Lieutenant FREEZE! Freddy walks right up to the Lieutenant, grabs him and throws him up against the stove in the kitchen. He lands harshly on the floor unconscious. Kate (Screaming) How the hell did you come back? THEY KILLED YOU!!! Freddy (Breathing Heavily) YES! I was sent to hell but I escaped and now I will rule forever! Kate (Still screaming) HOW THE FUCK DO YOU ESCAPE HELL?!? Freddy Well I couldnÕt do it alone. I used that simple fuck Jason to get me out. When we made it back I was still very weak but the souls, they make me stronger. When I was strong enough to be on my own again I no longer needed him. I did gain one power from him you see now I can cross over between dreams and reality and I had to stop him from cutting in on whatÕs mind. Kate And what is it you think is yours? Freddy You! ANGLE ON MYERS Lieutenant Myers struggles to his feet after being thrown. Finally he does make it to his feet. He has his hands down on the oven. He turns the gas stove on and opens the oven door. Myers grabs his gun from off of the floor and replaces the clip. ANGLE ON KATE Freddy hovers over Kate ready to strike. SUDDENLY Myers smashes a wooden chair over FreddyÕs back. Freddy falls to his knees. ANGLE ON FREDDIEÕS FACE The look is pure evil, he looks madder than hell. Lieutenant Get out of here. Do as I say! Get far away from here. Kate runs out the back door. Myers runs over and covers the gaping hole with a curtain trying desperately to get as much gas inside as possible. Lieutenant (To Freddy) Come on you son of a bitch come and get me! Myers walks into the living room letting the room fill with gas. Freddy You will die! Freddy follows him into the living room. Myers takes his handgun and releases the safety. Lieutenant Come on Freddy. Come on. Myers is back peddling himself into a corner. Freddy No where to go piggy! Lieutenant YouÕre right. Myers takes the pistol and fires. BoomÉBoomÉBoom Freddy falls back allowing Myers to make his way back into the kitchen. Lieutenant (To himself) Shit! Come on expload. Freddy has regained his balance and is on him. Freddy Enough! Freddy slashes at Myers knocking him to the ground. The handgun slides a few feet away. Quickly Myers grabs the handgun. Freddy stands above him ready to kill. Before he gets the chance Myers fires a shot directly into the oven. KABOOM! A BEAUTIFUL EXPLOSION Flames shoot everywhere as the house starts to collapse. Ext. Outside house Kate is now knelt down taking care of Carl when more police and paramedics show up. She just watches as the house burns. FADE OUT The paramedics load Carl into an ambulance, Kate right with him. Fireman work to put out the fire. A song plays on the soundtrack. Int. House Rubble and ashes cover the bottom floor as the roof lies caved in on whatÕs left of the living room. SUDDENLY FreddieÕs hand rises through the rubble. He searches around and once again grabs JasonÕs killing mask. FADE TO BLACK THE END
