HALLOWEEN FRIDAY: THE DELIVERANCE FROM EVIL Written by Linden J. Eskenazi FADE IN: EXT. ROAD - NIGHT Darkness. Suddenly the road is illuminated as a pair of headlights emerge from around a bend in the road. As the lights grow closer, they blind us temporarily. The headlights shine away from us as the vehicle swerves around the curve in the road. As it passes us, we see that it is an ambulance. INT. AMBULANCE - NIGHT LAURIE STRODE/KERI TATE sits in the driver's seat, steering the ambulance along the dark road. REAR OF THE AMBULANCE A body bag lays across the floor. There is slight movement from something inside. IN THE FRONT SEAT Laurie steers the ambulance. She hears something slight and looks up into the rear view mirror. LAURIE'S POV The person inside the body bag begins to move slightly. A hand slowly pushes through a tear in the bag, ripping it open. ON LAURIE She looks back and sees Michael crawling out of the body bag. Laurie hits the break and Michael flies toward, through the windshield, landing on the hard concrete. LAURIE'S POV - THROUGH BROKEN WINDSHIELD Michael lays on the concrete and slowly begins to sit up. ON LAURIE She looks at him, impatiently. LAURIE Come on, get up. LAURIE'S POV - THROUGH BROKEN WINDSHIELD Michael slowly stands, facing her. ON LAURIE She presses her foot on the gas, speeding violently towards him. EXT. ROAD - NIGHT The speeding ambulance collides with Michael and he falls forward onto the hood. INT. AMBULANCE - NIGHT Michael reaches out, trying to grab Laurie through the broken windshield. She tries to avoid Michael's attacks, which causes her to loose control of her steering. EXT. ROAD - NIGHT The ambulance swerves along the road and goes off the side. It violently rolls down the rocky hillside, destroying the exterior of the vehicle. Michael is holding onto the windshield with all his might. As the ambulance reaches the bottom, Michael is flung away from the vehicle and he falls into a tree limb. He is mortally wounded by the impact. He hears the ambulance rushing toward him and turns away, trying to escape but is pinned to the tree limb as the ambulance crashes into him. ON LAURIE She lays on the ground motionless. Then suddenly she jolts in pain, and gets up. She slowly approaches the ambulance. Along the way, Laurie bends down and picks up the axe which had been thrown from the ambulance along with her. Laurie staggers over to the ambulance and moves around to the front where she sees Michael, her brother, pinned in between the ambulance and a tree limb. LAURIE Michael!!! Michael is still but jolts his head back, looking up and around. He reaches up and motions to pull off his mask, but just holds his head in pain. LAURIE (continuing) Michael!!! Michael looks up at her through his white mask. He appears confused and disoriented. Michael reaches out for her with one of his hands. Laurie stands there without expression, watching her brother desperately reaching out for her. She slowly moves toward him, then reaches her hand out. Laurie reaches out and caresses Michael's fingertips with hers. Their hands never fully touch. Michael still reaches out for help. Then something clicks inside her head. She pulls back away from Michael and swings the axe at him, cutting his head clean off. LAURIE (continuing) Go to hell, Michael!!! The white-masked head flies through the air, landing on the ground not too far from the ambulance. Laurie glances over at Michael's body, thinking a moment. Then she slowly glances over at the served head. She has a look of doubt which seems to be seeping through her brave demeanor. Laurie staggers over to the severed head, and leans down to pick it up. She raises it and slowly removes the white mask from over the head, and tosses it aside -- revealing the head of a man. LAURIE (continuing) Oh my God!!! Laurie's face suddenly goes to that of a scared hysterical woman. LAURIE Oh God No... no... Two paramedics suddenly leap out of the bushes. Paramedic #1 has a gun. PARAMEDIC #1 Freeze, lady! Laurie turns to them in hysterics. LAURIE He's still alive! Help me! PARAMEDIC #2 Who the hell are you talking about? LAURIE My brother... he's still out there... PARAMEDIC #1 (reholsters his gun) I think you're going to have to come with us... Paramedic #1 signals to his partner. Paramedic #2 slowly draws a drug syringe out of his waist pack. But before he can inject Laurie, she hoists the ax up.. Her eyes glow with pure intent. LAURIE I've got to stop him... you can't take me away... I've got to... destroy him. Destroy the evil forever... Paramedic #1 suddenly whips out his gun with a desperate wail. Laurie brings the ax down on him, killing him. His body slumps over and rolls down the ditch. Paramedic #2 throws away his syringe and kneels down, removing his waist pack and putting it near Laurie's feet. His face grows pale and he starts to whimper. PARAMEDIC #2 Please Lady, don't hurt me, please... Laurie brings the long ax handle down with sufficient force to his head. He falls to the floor out cold. She runs to the their van that they came in. FOCUS on the severed head on the ground. FADE TO EXT. SUMMER GLEN HOSPITAL-Laurie stops outside of the hospital. She runs. INT. HOSPITAL- Laurie runs right past the secretary. SECRETARY Hey there! Laurie runs through the hallways until she finds a door marked A22. The card placed in the box reads JOHN TATE- CHECK FOR INJURIES AND POSSIBLE TRAUMA. She opens the door and runs in. INT. JOHN'S ROOM- John is awake and by himself. When Laurie comes in, he sits up. JOHN Mom? Laurie produces her revolver. She is utterly hysterical. LAURIE John! John, get in the van and drive far, far away from here! Here's the keys! JOHN Mom, what the hell is going on? LAURIE He's still alive! Michael is still alive! JOHN What? Well, does he know where you are? LAURIE He knows. I can feel it. JOHN Well come with me then! LAURIE No. I'm going to finish him once and for all. JOHN (getting up)Where are you going? LAURIE I'm going to find Tommy! EXT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE-NIGHT Rain pours, thunder booms and lightning flashes. INT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE There is no light, only occasional lightning flashes illuminate the halls. Suddenly, a familiar mask shines through the darkness. INT. KIMBLE HOUSEHOLD The caption reads CRYSTAL LAKE. A woman is sleeping in her bed. She keeps tossing and turning. She sweats profusely and moans. This woman is JESSICA KIMBLE. JESSICA'S DREAM- EXT. CLEARING IN WOODS - NIGHT She (Elizabeth Marcus) runs into this clearing then turns to see Jason rapidly coming after her, striding out into the open, raising his machete ready to deliver the lethal blow when, suddenly, INTENSE BRIGHT LIGHTS SNAP ON AROUND THE CLEARING stunning Jason for a moment. The girl disappears into the treeline as THE DEAFENING ROAR OF GUNFIRE cracks out from the darkness. There are FBI AGENTS hidden behind every tree, bush and rock...and now, they are all firing on Jason at once. Jason jerks as the bullets tear into his body. Then there is a moment...the FBI agents watching...waiting for Jason to fall. But he doesn't fall. He stands there. His head turning slowly, searching the darkness for his next kill. Suddenly, from out of the darkness we hear: FBI AGENT ABERNATHY Incoming! We hear a muffled SHOOMP! sound, then a familiar WHISTLING as a mortar shell descends on Jason in the middle of the clearing. The grenade lands right at Jason's feet. An anxious beat...then... THE MORTAR EXPLODES! We watch as Jason is blown, irrevocably, limb from limb. ON VARIOUS CHUNKS OF JASON spinning slowly in the air in SLO-MO. An arm, something unrecognizable, his head still in the hockey mask, then, finally ON JASON'S BLACK HEART spinning through the air to finally land, with a WET PLOP, on the field. It beats once, then once more...then stops. JESSICA STEVEN!!!!!! ECHOES outside the house. EXT. FIELD-NIGHT A group of rowdy bikers and gangers are gathered around a flaming trashcan. FOCUS on Michael's masked face behind some trees. MUSICAL STINGER! INT. CRYSTAL LAKE HOSPITAL-NIGHT Jessica is lying on a gurney, thrashing with pain. Her husband Steven is close by her. Nurses are rushing her somewhere. JESSICA Aaargh!!... urrrrr!!!... aaahh!!! NURSE #1 What's her status Doctor? DOCTOR 10 cm dilated, Nurse. Get her there and get her there fast... INT. MEDICAL CENTER - EMERGENCY ENTRANCE - HALLWAY The doors burst wide open. Jessica is wheeled down the hallway. Her screams are irritating. STEVEN It's okay Jess darling, I'm here. Jessica is wheeled down the hallway to a set of double doors. INT. MEDICAL CENTER - EAST LOBBY - HALLWAY - NIGHT The doors swing open. Jessica is wheeled into the lobby. NURSE WHITE approaches the gurney. NURSE WHITE We've been expecting you. Jessica is wheeled down another corridor. Nurse White follows along side the stretcher. Jessica is in dire pain. Her screams echo throughout the long hallway. INT. MEDICAL CENTER - DELIVERY ROOM The room is filled with doctors wearing surgical masks and gloves. The door bursts open. Jessica is wheeled into the delivery room. CUT TO: ANGLE ON JESSICA She is on the gurney in the middle of the room, breathing heavy. The doctors are all around her. There is a doctor under the sheets ready to catch the baby. Jessica is screaming as she breathes. DOCTOR LAKEY Push, Jessica push. Push. DISSOLVE TO: ANGLE ON JESSICA She is pushing and breathing hard, sweat runs down her cheeks. Her screams are disturbing. One nurse takes a wet cloth and wipes Jessica's sweaty forehead. DOCTOR LAKEY Push, that's it, keep going. You're doing great, Jessica. JESSICA (screaming) Oh God, it's coming. Oh God. EXT. MEDICAL CENTER - NIGHT Lightning streaks in the sky above. INT. MEDICAL CENTER - MATERNITY - DELIVERY ROOM Doctor Lakey looks up at Jessica. DOCTOR LAKEY One more push... The sound of a new born baby crying can be heard as Doctor Lakey lifts Jessica's baby from under the sheets. DOCTOR LAKEY It's a boy, Ms. Kimble. As Jessica begins to look down, she falls unconscious. FADE TO INT. DELIVERY ROOM-NIGHT Doctor Lakey pulls the bloodstained bedsheet over Jessica's dead body. In the other corner of the room, the nurse is holding the baby and crying. NURSE She was so young.... a baby without a mother? DOCTOR We did the best we could. These things happen. The nurse looks into the baby's eyes. INT. ROADSIDE CAFÉ- MORNING Laurie is sitting at a table drinking from her bottle of vodka. She looks fearful and as if she had been crying. She is in disguise, wearing dark sunglasses and a red shawl. The other patrons are silently eating. She looks at the TV. V.O. The town of Crystal Lake is in the grip of terror once more. Last night seven nurses and one Doctor Lakey were found dead, apparently strangled and/or smothered, than bludgeoned to death. Steven Freeman has been arrested for the heinous crimes and, if convicted, faces the death penalty. Police say his motive was to take revenge for his wife's death in childbirth a few hours earlier. And in later news... LAURIE Oh God... V.O. In Summer Glen, California, the decapitated body of Dr. Terence Wynn was found in a ravine. Nearby the axed body of paramedic John Logan was also found. A second paramedic is being treated for concussion and trauma and will be fit for questioning soon. Police report finding a kitchen knife, a syringe filled with a powerful anaesthetic and a bulletproof vest on Dr Wynn's person. A statewide manhunt has begun to catch the killer who is reported to have stolen the paramedics' van. We urge you to come forward if you see a van displaying an exempt license plate reading... Laurie's entire body comes into the picture. She is wearing MRS VOORHEES' SWEATER! EXT. ROAD-MORNING Laurie is speeding off in the van. INT. TOMMY DOYLE'S HOUSE-LATE MORNING Laurie is sitting in an armchair drinking vodka, completely hysterical. Tommy is standing near here. Kara Strode is standing at the foot of the steps. TOMMY How do you know he's still alive? LAURIE I... I looked at the head. TOMMY Kara! Go upstairs. TOMMY (cont'd) Well, if... if it wasn't Michael's, whose was it? TIGHT ON LAURIE LAURIE Dr Wynn. EXT. AN ALLEY- NIGHT A woman falls back against a wall with a painful crunch. POV OF WOMAN THROUGH BLOOD IN EYES All we can see is the dim, dark silhouette of a tall, burly figure. The blood obscures its face and the detail of its body. WOMAN Help... The figure's face gets closer and closer to us until it is a crimson blur, obscured by all the blood. Its hands outstretch to clasp around our temples. WOMAN Please... I... heart problem... The figure's left hand plunges below frame. MUSICAL STINGER! There is some screaming and then gurgling. The figure's hand shoves a gory heart into the screen. FADE OUT INTO BLACKNESS FADE IN EXT. AN ALLEY-NIGHT- Two police paramedics carry the woman's body on a gurney into the back of their van. TIGHT ON WOMAN'S FACE OUTLINE THROUGH THE BLOOD STAINED SHEET Police officers take pictures of the bloody crime scene. FLASH TO The paramedic picks up a baby's carseat, put it in the back of the van and gets in with it, closing the doors. REAR SHOT The van starts to drive away. INT. VAN- TIGHT ON The baby inside the carseat. In its hands is a hockey mask. INT. MEDICAL ARCHIVES, HADDONFIELD HOSPITAL-NIGHT Laurie and Tommy are rooting through a filing cabinet. Tommy removes a file marked WYNN, TERENCE. TOMMY Here it is. He lays it on a table and opens it. Inside is a vital statistic paper as well as some record sheets. TOMMY takes out the statistic paper and puts it on the table in front of Laurie. TOMMY Is that who you saw? LAURIE (starts to cry) That's him... TOMMY But... why would he pretend to be Michael and kill all those people? LAURIE To get to me. He used John as bait for me to follow. I... I was supposed to be Michael's final sacrifice. TOMMY Laurie, how do you know all this? LAURIE I don't know. All I have is... a vague and haunting memory. EXT. ROAD-NIGHT Laurie and Tommy are driving down the road in the car. Rain pounds the sides of the car as thunder booms and lightning flashes. Suddenly, a paramedic van slams into their rear. TOMMY What the fuck? LAURIE Shit, it's Michael! MICHAEL'S van slams into the rear again, jolting the pair. LAURIE Tommy, take the wheel! TOMMY What are you gonna do? LAURIE Finish it. LAURIE leans out of the passenger window holding her revolver. She aims at Michael and squeezes off the entire cylinder. The shots hit and ricochet off the fender and windshield. The van keeps coming. Both vehicles are getting closer and closer to a toll station. TOMMY can see a line of cars in their way. TOMMY Oh shit! ON MICHAEL'S VAN The van is actually going faster! TIGHT ON SPEEDOMETER INCREASING TOMMY What are we going to do, what are we going to do?! Their car is getting ever closer to the tolling station. LAURIE Jump! Both open their doors and leap out of the speeding car as Michael's van ploughs it into the others, causing a massive, fiery explosion. Bits of cars, the tolling station and people are thrown everywhere. Laurie and Tommy look at the flaming wreckage and realize Michael's van was one of those destroyed. They start to run away. TOMMY Wait! Look... The two examine the flaming wreckage and notice the baby in the carseat, miraculously unharmed. Laurie picks it up. LAURIE How did... TOMMY I know. Not even singed... THE BABY LOOKS AT LAURIE'S SWEATER. ITS EYES CHANGE! The two run away with the baby. FOCUS on Michael's mask in the wreckage. INT. BACK AT TOMMY'S HOUSE-NIGHT Tommy is holding the baby. Laurie is watching the news fearfully. V.O. And tonight in Haddonfield, disaster struck. 20 people were killed and 4 were injured in what is being called the worst highway disaster in American history. According to police forensic teams, three people may have escaped the crash. A nationwide manhunt has begun to find the three people who police believe may have caused the crash. Also, apparently there is a missing baby from the crash site, but as to whether it is alive or dead remains to be seen. More on that tomorrow... LAURIE Oh my God... TOMMY Laurie? LAURIE He's still out there, Tommy. He's the third person the police are talking about. He escaped... EXT. ETERNAL REST CEMETARY-NIGHT The caption reads ETERNAL REST CEMETARY, CRYSTAL LAKE. John Tate is digging up a grave. A lightning flash illuminates the head stone - JESSICA KIMBLE- BELOVED WIFE AND MOTHER NOW RESTS. John works feverishly until he hits something hard. JOHN The coffin! TIGHT ON JOHN He digs even faster now until the surface of the coffin is uncovered. Taking a deep breath, he yanks the lid of the coffin open! MUSICAL STINGER! The body of Jessica Kimble lies in the casket. She is wearing her wedding dress. She almost looks like she is sleeping; decomposition has not yet set in. But what really catches John's eye is the ornate box on a chain around her neck. He shivers as he removes it from her throat and gently undoes the silver clasp. JOHN I'll be damned. It's for real... TIGHT ON BOX The box has now been opened and inside lays the dagger of Horvath! JOHN SAY YOUR PRAYERS MICHAEL! TIGHT ON JOHN, WHITE KNUCKLE TO THE STEERING WHEEL, EYES BURNING DETERMINATION AS THE ENGINE ROARS. BIRD'S-EYE OF THE VAN SPEEDING AWAY. INT. TOMMY'S HOUSE-NIGHT Everyone is in their last positions. LAURIE Tommy, I'm going to call John. We're going to take Kara and the baby and get as far away from here as possible. TOMMY We can't! I can't leave Stephen in this house for Michael to find, and I can't take him with us. LAURIE Why not? TOMMY Thorn's stronger than ever before, Laurie. Stephen has started to hear... the voices. I can't think of what will happen if he leaves this house. We're not going anywhere. If Michael comes, let him. We'll be ready. THUNDER BOOMS EXT. ABANDONED ROAD- NIGHT John is speeding along in his van. TIGHT ON JOHN SWEATING TIGHT ON THE VAN'S SPINNING WHEEL. AN AXE SUDDENLY HITS THE TIRE, POPPING IT. The van goes out of control and eventually rolls into a ditch. INT. OVERTURNED VAN- TIGHT ON JOHN'S BLOODY FACE THROUGH A BROKEN WINDOW. HE OPENS HIS EYES AND... Sees Michael walking towards him! John goes frantic. He struggles to pull himself out of the van but he is pinned between the crushed doors. Michael is getting closer. John starts to try to kick the doors open. Michael is getting ever closer. MICHAEL'S POV John is struggling to escape from the overturned van. There is an indication of us moving forwards. INT. VAN John is pounding on the doors to release him. He is wailing now, then screaming as Michael gets closer and closer. With one huge kick, the crushed door bulges out again. Weak and bleeding, John opens up the glove compartment frantically and takes the automatic in there. He kicks off the rest of the wreckage inside the van and crawls towards the back of the van. Michael is frighteningly close and is getting closer. John struggles with the back doors of the van. Suddenly, Michael smashes through the windshield! John goes hysterical, struggling with the doors as Michael raises his ax... the doors open and John tumbles out of the van into the muddy ditch. He carefully aims the gun and fires once, then twice into the van's fuel tank. The van explodes and John dives for cover. JOHN'S POV The flaming van. PANS left and right, searching for Michael. MUSICAL STINGER! EXT. ROAD- Michael, on fire, stumbles out of the flaming van. John carefully aims his gun. JOHN This is the end, uncle. John fires at Michael. No wound is visible in the darkness, but Michael falls backwards. TIGHT ON MICHAEL'S HEAD IN THE WATERLOGGED DITCH- There is a sizzling noise as the rainwater extinguishes the flames. John slowly walks over to the ditch where Michael fell, gun in hand. He peers over the edge and sees Michael's still, lifeless body almost submerged in the muddy rainwater. He lifts his gun, carefully aims it at Michael's head and... MICHAEL'S EYES FLASH OPEN! Instantly John pulls the trigger! THE GUN CLICKS! John runs away like hell as Michael's dripping form rises from the ditch ax in hand. TIGHT ON JOHN'S FEET running as he races along the road. Michael is gaining on him. John sees a car on the side of the road. He opens the unlocked door and... A MAN WITH A BUTCHER KNIFE IN HIS CHEST FALLS OUT! Shaken but not stopped, John jumps in the car. Michael is getting closer and closer. He turns the keys in the lock. The engine stutters a bit, but then roars into life. John reverses just as... MICHAEL SWINGS HIS AX INTO THE WINDSHIELD! John slams on the gas and collides right into Michael. Michael falls over onto the ground. John backs up until he is in perfect alignment with Michael, ready to send him flying again. JOHN It's time, Michael. Time to finish what you started. Michael slowly gets up. TIGHT ON JOHN'S FOOT SLAMMING INTO THE ACCELERATOR The car rams into Michael and keeps going, taking him with it. Michael holds onto the hood as the car speeds forwards. Struggling, he brings his ax down into the roof and tries to hoist himself up. John sees some sort of power plant in the distance. TIGHT ON JOHN'S FOOT PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR HARDER TIGHT ON SPEEDOMETER IN THE 100 MPH AREA The power plant gets closer and closer. Now we can see electrified fencing surrounds it. Warning signs litter the area. Michael struggles to climb up the hood. JOHN Oh no you don't... John slams on the brakes. There is a loud screeching noise as the car hurtles into the electric fence. TIGHT ON MICHAEL SMASHING INTO THE ELECTRIC FENCE Michael jerks and his wounds sizzle as the powerful current courses through his body. He looks straight at John. There is a long silence, then he slumps over but the sharp wire holds him upright. Black smoke envelops him. John slowly gets out of the car. He coughs on the burned flesh smoke. Walking over to Michael, he draws the Horvath dagger. Taking a deep breath, he plunges it into Michael's chest. JOHN Have fun in Hell motherfucker. John walks over to an emergency phone by the road and dials Tommy's number. INT. TOMMY'S HOUSE LAURIE Hello? EXT. POWER PLANT JOHN Mom! LAURIE John! JOHN I did it, mom. INT. TOMMY'S HOUSE LAURIE Did what? EXT. POWER PLANT JOHN I killed him. I killed Michael Myers. TIGHT ON A HEAVILY VEINED HAND'S FINGERS TWITCHING INTO LIFE! INT. TOMMY'S HOUSE LAURIE John where are you?! EXT. POWER PLANT JOHN (looks up to a road sign) The sign says 73 miles to Haddonfield... INT. TOMMY'S HOUSE LAURIE John, get over here! Come to Tommy's house as fast as you can! JOHN But mom, didn't you hear, I... I... LAURIE John? JOHN ... LAURIE JOHN!!! LAURIE drops the phone and starts to run away. TOMMY gets up. TOMMY Where are you going?! LAURIE I'm going to save my baby! LAURIE runs outside to the car. EXT. ROAD-NIGHT INT. CAR TIGHT ON LAURIE DRIVING LIKE HELL LAURIE Sees a sign displaying "73 miles to Haddonfield" LAURIE brakes violently. She gets out of the car. PAN TO AND TIGHT ON THE BABY IN THE BACKSEAT. How'd he get here? He was with Tommy! INT. TOMMY'S HOUSE TOMMY is lying on the floor, unconscious or dead. Blood trickles down his face. KARA Is lying nearby, pinned under a bookshelf, bleeding and whimpering. STEPHEN is looking at them from the top of the stairs. EXT. BACK TO THE ROAD LAURIE Runs up to the phone booth where John was. It's empty. LAURIE John? (screams) JOHN!! LAURIE runs around, looking for John. TIGHT ON THE ELECTRIC FENCING. A scrap of Michael's overalls hangs from it. The wire looks slightly caved in. LAURIE Is looking around frantically. LAURIE John? John! An ominous figure looms into frame. LAURIE John? LAURIE Walks up to a bush, but looks the other way, searching for John. Suddenly THE FIGURE Jumps out of the bush butcher knife in hand. LAURIE screams. MICHAEL Brings down the butcher knife with great force. At the same time LAURIE Fires her gun. FLASH TO BLACK. IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR THE BABY Looks through the window. we hear the SCREAMS of Laurie Strode. The sound of a butcher knife repeatedly piercing human flesh is heard along with the screams. Slowly, the sound all dies out. TIGHT ON THE BABY'S EYE BABY'S POV Michael stabs and slowly draws the knife from Laurie's lifeless body. CLOSE On Mrs Voorhees sweater, oozing with blood. THE BABY'S EYES START TURNING RED BABY'S THOUGHTS FLASHBACK- ALICE shoots up out of the water holding the machete, and in one, wild swing, decapitates MRS. VOORHEES, whose head flies off into the water. The body stands for a minute, then falls heavily into the lake. THE BABY'S EYES Are getting redder and redder until THE CAR explodes! MICHAEL Drops Laurie's lifeless body to the ground and looks over to the ruined car. OUT OF THE FLAMES a burly, hulking figure slowly steps out. THE FLAMES do nothing to him. A LIGHTENING FLASH Illuminates the figure's face. It's a hockey mask! THE FIGURE Steps out further into the light. The figure is shown to be none other than Jason Voorhees! JASON'S POV We can see Michael looking straight at us. Laurie is dead on the ground. HALLUCINATION- Black BG. In the FG, Mrs Voorhees' face is sort of floating around. The image is a little blurry. MRS VOORHEES Kill him Jason. Kill him like he killed me. JASON Starts walking towards Michael. MICHAEL starts walking towards Jason, knife in hand. JASON'S POV We are getting closer and closer to Michael. MICHAEL'S POV We are getting closer and closer to Jason. The two psychos are getting closer and closer to each other until... MICHAEL Lifts his knife and stabs Jason in the chest. JASON Remains stock-still. MICHAEL Looks confused until... JASON Uppercuts Michael, sending him flying into the ditch! JASON Draws the protruding knife from his chest and starts to walk towards the ditch. POV OF THE DITCH We see Jason standing on the edge, looking straight at us. JASON'S POV The ditch is empty, save for a few puddles of rainwater. Suddenly, A PICKUP TRUCK collides right into Jason, sending him sailing. A MAN gets out of the truck. MAN Oh shit! THE MAN starts walking towards Jason. MAN Are you hurt? C'mon, talk to me! JASON remains apparently dead on the ground. MAN Shit! MICHAEL'S POV We creep up behind the man. We look down to the ground and pick up the knife. The knife hand scratches the knife across the truck. THE MAN quickly turns around. MAN Who's the... KNIFE'S POV We fly into the man's face. MICHAEL gets into the truck and turns the ignition key. THE TRUCK starts to drive away. TIGHT ON The tarpaulin sheet in the pickup end of the truck. CLOSE ON The solid outline of something underneath the sheet. The wind blows, revealing more detail. It's a hockey mask! The rest of the sheet below the mask remains off-screen. FADE TO BLACK INT. TOMMY'S HOUSE- NIGHT TOMMY, still bruised, bleeding and battered, manages to cry out. TOMMY Kara! Stephen! (pauses)... Laurie? KARA struggles to get free from the fallen bookshelf. KARA Tommy? TOMMY Kara... he's coming. Michael's coming home. STEPHEN stands over them. STEPHEN He's here. EXT. ROAD- NIGHT The truck speeds along the highway. It passes a sign saying: WELCOME TO HADDONFIELD, IL POP. 1, 663 The truck continues to speed along. The suburban houses of Haddonfield are beginning to surround the area. TIGHT ON the hockey mask under the sheet. Suddenly, the mask begins to stir and JASON sits up! Lightning illuminates the twisted killer's form. CLOSE ON Jason's rotted hand groping for the knife. ANGLE ON JASON crawls towards Michael in the driver's seat, knife in hand. JASON readies the knife and... REFLECTION OF Michael's mask in the rearview mirror The truck brakes suddenly! JASON goes flying through the windshield! EXT. OUTSIDE OF A DETATCHED SHACK MICHAEL picks up his axe and steps out of the truck. MICHAEL'S POV The ground is bare save some scattered shards of windshield glass. Suddenly... JASON'S rotted hand pops out from beneath the truck and grabs Michael's leg. Michael struggles, but Jason yanks his leg towards him, making Michael fall over with a crunch of broken glass. With one hand on MICHAEL'S chest, JASON pulls himself out further from underneath the truck. With his other hand he gropes for the knife. CLOSE ON The truck's ruptured fuel tank leaking petrol. CLOSE ON JASON'S rotted hand closing around the knife handle. CLOSE ON MICHAEL'S head squirming, trying to escape JASON'S steely grip. CLOSE ON The puddle of petrol under the van steadily becoming larger. It is beginning to soak JASON'S boiler suit. MICHAEL'S POV JASON'S head rears up as he raises the bloodstained knife and levels it at MICHAEL. CLOSE ON MICHAEL squirming under JASON'S rotted hand. JASON raises the knife higher... Suddenly, MICHAEL scoops up a large shard of broken glass and stabs JASON in the eye with it. JASON drops the knife and holds his wounded eye in pain. MICHAEL struggles free of JASON'S grip and stands up. He grabs the hood of the truck and forcefully slams it down onto JASON repeatedly until he lays still. The puddle of gasoline seeps all over JASON'S boiler suit. MICHAEL stops slamming JASON, picks up the knife and steps back, watching JASON'S body for movement. JASON'S eyes flash open and burn a diabolical red! JASON swiftly pulls himself up, dripping in gasoline, and lunges at MICHAEL. MICHAEL slashes the knife at JASON. It misses and scratches a draining pipe, producing sparks. The SPARKS touch JASON'S gasoline-soaked boiler suit, igniting him. JASON thrashes as the flames spread across his body. MICHAEL readies the knife for another slash, but JASON punches it out of his hand and grabs MICHAEL by the throat with both flaming hands. MICHAEL struggles as the second-hand flames start to burn his mask. the STORM CLOUDS ERUPT WITH AN INCREDIBLE DOWNPOUR. JASON stops as the rain drenches him. There is a SIZZLING sound as the flames are extinguished. JASON'S burning red eyes stare coldly into MICHAEL. JASON flings MICHAEL into the road by the head with both hands and bends down to pick up the knife. MICHAEL lays in the road unconscious as JASON walks slowly towards him. JASON is about 10 feet away from MICHAEL when... A MAC TRUCK comes out of nowhere and runs right over MICHAEL! It looks like the tires missed him though. JASON waits as the truck passes. JASON'S POV MICHAEL is gone! EXT. HADDONFIELD BYPASS ROAD- NIGHT The truck drives along and eventually pulls into a truck stop. THE DRIVER cuts the ignition and gets out. PAN TO The bottom of the truck. MICHAEL is there, clinging to the axle. THE DRIVER walks over to 2 attendants in uniform. ATTENDANT #1 Hey, Zeke, what can we do ya for today? ZEKE (THE DRIVER) Just gimme a tank of regular. ATTENDANT #2 Right. MICHAEL'S POV The attendants are getting the petrol pump ready, talking to Zeke. Their voices are drowned out by the trademark HEAVY BREATHING of Michael Myers. CLOSE ON MICHAEL'S hand ripping the tube out of the petrol pump. Gasoline pours out. ATTENDANT #1 Damn... ZEKE What is it? ATTENDANT #1 The darn pump's blocked up or something. (turns to Attendant #2) Steve, go check the pump. MICHAEL'S POV STEVE (ATTENDANT #2) walks towards the pump and notices the destroyed tubing. STEVE Shit! We lunge into STEVE. Our hands wrap around his throat and throttle him. He gurgles, then drops to the floor. Our hand reaches into his pocket. The gasoline continues to pour. CLOSE ON The gasoline puddle starting to spread onto ZEKE'S and ATTENDANT #1's shoes. They continue to talk to each other and don't notice. CLOSE ON MICHAEL'S shoes walking across the ground free of gasoline. MICHAEL'S POV We can see Zeke and Attendant #1 talking, unaware of the puddle of gasoline seeping under their feet. CLOSE ON MICHAEL'S hand holding STEVE'S complimentary matchbook. He removes a match and CLOSE AND SLO-MO Lights it. ZEKE nonchalantly turns around. He sees MICHAEL standing there with the lit match. He looks down at the gasoline covered ground. ATTENDANT #1 is still talking to him and unaware. Before a scream has passed ZEKE'S lips, MICHAEL flicks the lit match at his feet. The tarmac-covered ground goes up in bluish flames. ZEKE and ATTENDANT #1 are on fire, screaming. MICHAEL slowly starts to walk away. In the BG, the flames leap up into the air and ZEKE'S truck explodes. The two men's screams fill the air as the truck stop burns, until the sound suddenly dies out in a fiery explosion. MICHAEL stands on the hilltop, with the burning truck stop in the BG. He stares down, god-like, onto the sleeping town of Haddonfield. He knows what he must do. MALE V.O. Freeze asshole. MICHAEL remains stock-still. ON POLICEMAN (remains pointing his gun and staring at MICHAEL) Sheriff! SHERIFF BRACKET steps forwards! POLICEMAN We got a major arsonist here... BRACKET (whips out his gun) Get away from him, dammit! POLICEMAN Sir, what's wrong... BRACKET shoots MICHAEL repeatedly. MICHAEL falls over. POLICEMAN Sheriff! BRACKET Cuff him and call backup. THE POLICEMAN looks confused. BRACKET (Cont'd) NOW! POLICEMAN But sir, he's... BRACKET Dead? Pure evil never dies. FLASH TO Several police cars are parked around the area. About a dozen policemen are loading MICHAEL'S body into an ambulance. The night is filled with sirens and the spray of fire truck pumps. When MICHAEL is loaded into the ambulance, BRACKET and several other policemen accompany him to keep a watch on this notoriously evil killer. FLASH TO INT. AMBULANCE- NIGHT BRACKET and his men are seated around the gurney containing the lifeless body of MICHAEL. Outside the window, police escorts drive alongside the ambulance. FLASH TO EXT. STREET- NIGHT Suddenly a dark figure steps out in front of the ambulance, about half a mile away. CLOSE ON THE AMBULANCE DRIVER'S hand beeping the horn. The figure remains stock-still. All the escorts beep their horns too. The figure does not respond. They are getting closer and closer to the figure. DRIVER (into com radio) Stop! BRACKET Keep going! We can't afford to be stalled with this guy aboard! DRIVER Are you crazy? (into intercom) Stop! I repeat, stop! All the vehicles come to a stand-still about 10 feet from the figure. SARGANT leans out of the window of his police car. SARGANT Get outta the way, asshole! The figure does nothing. SARGANT That's a direct police order! If you do not respond, we will be forced to fire upon you! The figure draws a machete from behind his back. Lightning illuminates his form. It's JASON! SARGANT Holy shit! Fire! All the policemen, using their car doors for cover, fire at JASON. JASON jerks as the bullets tear into his body. After the firing stops, he sways but remains standing. Suddenly, a bullet rips into his chest. CLOSE ON BRACKET aiming the gun at us. He fires once, twice JASON falls over. FLASH TO The cops are loading JASON'S body on a gurney next to MICHAEL'S. Everyone looks disgusted, yet amazed as they examine the rotting husk that is JASON VOORHEES. BRACKET Holy Hell... A sheet is laid over JASON'S BODY and the ambulance continues its journey. CLOSE ON The sheet. No movement. The cops look as though they've seen a ghost. They're not far off. PAN UP To the heart monitor hooked up to Jason. Flatliner. BRACKET lights a cigarette. CLOSE ON The heart monitor. Still flatliner. BRACKET takes a deep drag. EXT. STREET- Out of nowhere, a car smashes into the ambulance. INT. AMBULANCE Electrical equipment falls over onto JASON'S body. It sparks violently and electricity courses through JASON. BRACKET Looks at the car that smashed into them. The driver is a MAN IN BLACK! CLOSE ON The heart monitor. The flatliner turns to a spike! The cops throw the electrical equipment off of JASON'S body. CLOSE ON The sheet. There is a spot of blood where JASON'S chest is. It's getting larger. BRACKET Fuck! His heart's beating, the fucker's alive! JASON sits up and punches COP #1 through his chest, killing him. BRACKET levels his gun and fires at JASON over and over again. JASON is stunned, but not down! JASON gets off the gurney and grabs COP #2 around the temples and twists his head off. BRACKET shouts. JASON picks up a syringe and jabs COP #3 in the neck, who falls over drugged unconscious. CLOSE ON JASON'S foot crushing his head to puree. JASON turns around and smashes the driver's head into the steering wheel, killing him. BRACKET throws himself out of the back windows to escape JASON. JASON ignores him and walks over the corpses to MICHAEL'S body on the gurney. CLOSE ON JASON'S rotted hand drawing a knife from his hidden survival belt. He raises the knife and... Hundreds of bullets spray through the windows, knocking JASON down for the count. The bullets continue to be fired until the ambulance goes up in flames. Stunned but not stopped, JASON gets up and continues to walk towards MICHAEL'S body. Outside is the sound of guns being cocked and reloaded. JASON walks unperturbed through the flames, getting closer and closer to MICHAEL with that awful knife until... MICHAEL sits up and knocks JASON right through the window! As MICHAEL gets up, we can hear the sound from outside of a butcher knife repeatedly piercing human flesh along with the screams and deafening gunshots. Slowly, the sound all dies out. JASON'S POV We can see about a dozen cop corpses scattered on the ground. We look straight ahead at the flaming ambulance. We start to walk forwards. Suddenly the ambulance explodes! EXT. STREET MICHAEL'S POV We walk along the street. There is no one around. Eventually we turn into a front yard and walk up towards the house. Tommy Doyle's house. CLOSE ON MICHAEL'S hand smashing through the front door and turning the knob slowly. The door creaks open. A hand holding a large butcher knife wraps around the door edge. MICHAEL'S POV There appears to be no one home. ANGLE ON KARA stepping up from behind the sofa. She carefully aims her gun. KARA Eat this fuck face! She shoots MICHAEL in the head twice. MICHAEL topples over. KARA Tommy! TOMMY limps in. His face is plastered. In one hand he holds a shotgun, in the other a tank of petrol. A pistol is tucked into his belt. TOMMY Where'd you shoot him? KARA In the head. TOMMY Good. Now to finish it TOMMY unscrews the cap off the tank and pours gasoline all over MICHAEL. When the tank is emptied, he tosses it aside and produces a matchbook from his pocket. TOMMY Goodbye Michael. He LIGHTS the match. Suddenly, JASON bursts through the windows, machete sharp and ready! SLO MO TOMMY and KARA fire repeatedly their guns at JASON in mid-air. No avail. JASON continues his path through the air and smashes right into TOMMY, sending him flying against a wall. TOMMY closes his eyes and lapses into unconsciousness. KARA NO! Die you friggin' bastard! She fires her gun over and over again into JASON'S head. JASON raises his machete and swings it at the camera. CLOSE ON The floor being showered with KARA'S blood. JASON turns back towards his primary objective: to kill MICHAEL. As he does so, a large butcher knife is rammed into his face! ANGLE ON MICHAEL examining the damage caused to the now crouching JASON. JASON stares at the camera. The knife sticks grotesquely out of his hockey mask. Suddenly, he pulls it out and attacks the camera with it! MICHAEL is blown back by the attack. He gets up, but JASON smashes him up into the air... and through the wall! JASON'S POV We can see the ruined wall, plaster and cement scattered everywhere. Spots of MICHAEL'S blood decorate the edges. We walk forwards and peer into the darkness... MICHAEL is gone! A hole in the outer wall is our only clue to his disappearance... Filled with rage, JASON punches right through the brick. A gentle breeze blows as we enter JASON'S POV A cloud of brick dust and plaster clouds our vision to some degree as we look through the remnants of the wall and across the street, searching for MICHAEL. Suddenly, a familiar face passes the window of the Myers' house; Michael's house; and stares right at us. ANGLE ON JASON throws himself through the window onto THE SHAPE. The two psychos struggle on the floor. JASON appears to have the upper hand as he tightens his steely grip on MICHAEL and draws his knife ever closer... The knife slashes MICHAEL'S throat. Dark red, almost black blood oozes over his mask and collar. CLOSE ON MICHAEL'S hand that once gripped JASON with terrifying strength, now begins to release as MICHAEL weakens from the fatal wound. CLOSES ON All over MICHAEL'S body, his limbs are beginning to lapse into a slow paralyzing death. JASON slowly gets up. STEPHEN slowly walks in and sees MICHAEL on the floor. JASON has disappeared. STEPHEN Father? JASON'S POV We are creeping up behind STEPHEN, who is crouching next to MICHAEL. We lift up a meaty looking cleaver (geddit?) and raise it high behind STEPHEN'S head... Suddenly, MICHAEL quickly sits up and pushes STEPHEN out of the way with his left hand. The cleaver continues its deadly arc into MICHAEL'S arm. It cuts deeply and blood spurts, but MICHAEL pulls it out of his arm (and JASON'S hand), stands up and swings it into JASON'S head. FACING STEPHEN He looks awed by the sight. The two killer's shadows fall over him. No one appears to be winning. Suddenly, JASON stabs the knife right through MICHAEL'S chest. The bloody knife exits out his back and scratches the wall as he slowly slides down. MICHAEL'S POV JASON'S red eyes staring at us filled with hate. JASON'S POV MICHAEL'S neutral, calm eyes stare back at us. A single blood red tear trickles down. CLOSE ON MICHAEL raising his hand towards JASON. He is holding the dagger of Horvath! CLOSE ON JASON crouches down and extends his rotted hand to receive it. Their hands get closer and closer until... MICHAEL places the dagger in JASON'S hand. CLOSE ON JASON'S eyes blaze with joy. An evil kind of joy. STEPHEN Father? STEPHEN walks towards the pair. With a blaze of fury, JASON whips up the dagger, preparing to strike STEPHEN at any second... MICHAEL grabs JASON'S hand with the dagger and rams it into JASON'S cold heart. JASON has stabbed himself in the heart with the Horvath dagger!! MICHAEL pushes JASON off of him as JASON starts to squirm. As the sparks and hellish energy rips through JASON'S body, the words of CREIGHTON DUKE echo through his mind. DUKE V.O. Through a Voorhees was he born Through a Voorhees may he be reborn And only through a Voorhees may he die... die... die The voice changes to YOUNG TOMMY (V.O.) (age 12) Die! TRISH (V.O.) Tommy! YOUNG TOMMY (V.O.) (age 12) Die! CUT TO: INT. JARVIS HOUSE - NIGHT (19 YEARS AGO) ON YOUNG TOMMY wielding a large machete down upon the corpse of JASON VOORHEES. YOUNG TOMMY (filled with rage) Die! His sister TRISH hysterically pleads for him to stop. TRISH Tommy! Tommy keeps on attacking Jason's corpse. ON YOUNG TOMMY'S FACE as the rage continues to control his actions. CUT BACK TO THE MYERS'S HOUSE JASON wails as the demons come out of the floor and grab him. Suddenly, a razor-gloved hand rips off his hockey mask, revealing his true grotesque face! JASON is being dragged into Hell. Suddenly, Freddy Kreuger rips out JASON'S heart with his glove. FREDDY You heartless motherfucker! The heart goes flying into the direction of STEPHEN. It falls with a PLOP on the floor. JASON, FREDDY and the demons disappear into Hell. The heart starts beating! STEPHEN is being hypnotized just like the coroner! He bends down to pick up the heart, and eats it! When he finishes the heart, he stands for a moment, not moving. Then, suddenly, his throat bulges and he begins to SCREAM A HORRIBLE SCREAM! STEPHEN walks over to MICHAEL'S limp but living body. STEPHEN'S mouth is smeared with black liquid from the heart. Possessed by JASON, he grabs MICHAEL with both hands, lifts him up with ease, leans over and... bites a chunk out of his head! Bloody brains splash everywhere. STEPHEN smashes MICHAEL'S head against the wall with a wet smash; it's completely obliterated! STEPHEN drops MICHAEL'S dead corpse and suddenly doubles up in pain. He falls to the floor face-up with a hollow smack. His eyes, although open, look dead and inert. TIGHT CLOSE ON STEPHEN'S left eye. FLASH TO On a blinding white BG, a druid like figure appears in the FG. It looks like Danny's hallucination in Halloween 6. This figure is THORN. THORN Stephen... I am your father... kill for me... The white BG changes to a crimson red. THORN (Cont'd) You are the chosen one... You will obey me... You will kill your family... So others may live... FLASHBACKS- All the murders MICHAEL ever committed in his lifetime (Halloween 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7) are FLASHED across the screen rapidly. FLASH TO TIGHT CLOSE ON STEPHEN'S right eye FLASH TO ALICE shoots up out of the water holding the machete, and in one, wild swing, decapitates MRS. VOORHEES, whose head flies off into the water. FLASHBACKS- All the murders JASON ever committed throughout his lifetime (Friday the 13th 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) are FLASHED across the screen rapidly. FLASH TO CLOSE ON STEPHEN'S face. FLASH TO INSIDE STEPHEN'S MIND JASON and MICHAEL are fighting in Hell. JASON punches right at MICHAEL'S head, but his fist just passes through his head as if he was a ghost. Unperturbed, JASON keeps swinging attacks through MICHAEL to no avail. MRS VOORHEES V.O. Kill him Jason. JASON keeps trying to kill MICHAEL but the attacks whip right through him. MRS VOORHEES V.O. KILL HIM JASON!! JASON, retarded and completely obedient, keeps ripping the air apart in fury. ON MICHAEL THORN V.O. Kill him son. MICHAEL punches at the still swinging JASON, but as usual his fist passes right through him. THORN V.O. KILL HIM AND I WILL TAKE YOU FROM THIS INFERNAL PLACE!!! MICHAEL stands still. Suddenly, a powerful force raises his fist and uses it to punch through JASON. We can see MICHAEL didn't do that. MICHAEL'S calm eyes blaze with fury as the force uses his fist to punch through JASON over and over again. We can see him struggle but it's too strong. THORN V.O. I own you... son. CLOSE ON MICHAEL'S eye FLASH TO FLASHBACK- The POV moves up behind the sister. Sensing a presence, she spins around and stares at the POV, covering her breasts quickly. SISTER Michael...? Suddenly the POV lunges forward. The sister continues to stare incredulously. There is a RAPID BLUR as the POV drives the butcher knife into the sister's chest and out again almost before we've seen it. The sister looks down at the blood forming at her hands, then back up at the POV with an astonished disbelief. Then in a WILD PAROXYSM the butcher knife blurs continuously in and out of frame, slashing the sister mercilessly. She begins to SCREAM, trying to fend off the blows with her hands, then suddenly falls out of frame to the floor. FLASH BACK TO MICHAEL'S EYES A single blood red tear trickles down his face. With a BURST OF RAGE, MICHAEL breaks out of THORN'S spell. MICHAEL'S eyes glow with pure will. JASON swings a powerful punch right through him. With all his might, MICHAEL punches JASON right in the face, smashing his hockey mask and sending him back where he belongs. FLASH TO INT.FLOOR OF THE MYERS' HOUSE MICHAEL opens his eyes as if he was asleep. He is right where STEPHEN was. The house is empty. MICHAEL clutches his chest in pain. MICHAEL To death... in peace. MICHAEL slumps over dead. FADE TO BLACK FADE TO INT. CARAVAN- DAYTIME TOMMY is driving and watching the television. ON THE TV REPORTER DANIEL WILLIAMS is standing in front of the Myers' house. WILLIAMS Today, a town mourns. In a bizarre string of tragedies, almost 70 people met their deaths in and around Haddonfield just last night. The tragedies started with what government officials call "one of the worst highway disasters in American history" in which more than twenty people were killed. Later, the bodies of John James Tate and his mother Keri Tate, formerly Laurie Strode, and the bodies of two other yet-to-be identified men were found dead near a burned out car, apparently killed with some sharp instrument. Further into Haddonfield, a truck stop was found destroyed by an apparent arson attack; several bodies were found. And in the worst case by far, at least ten police officers were found dead in and around a burned out ambulance. Police investigating the case are reluctant to discuss the murder weapon involved at this time... And behind me, innocence was shattered forever. The body of a 6-year-old boy was found in that house. An autopsy revealed the boy died from... (reads his news sheet in disbelief) over 70 gunshots and 100% 1st degree burns... over 30 assorted stab wounds and bone fractures and breaks are also evident, including a... broken spine... a slashed throat has also been diagnosed, er... a chemical which is thought to be cyanide has been detected in the child's bloodstream and... because even the gums are charred, a dental identification may take some time, until then the body will be put into cold storage... even this reporter is baffled by this case... police also report finding the body of Kara Strode in the neighboring house. Victims, Haddonfield extends its sorrow... TOMMY turns the TV off. The Caravan speeds off into the distance. FADE TO BLACK THE END
