"LOST"
(N. MICHALAK)

Ain't no future in my past
Ain't no right in what I've wronged
Ain't no stoppin' when you've gone too fast
Ain't no changin' what I've done

(Chorus)
  I couldn't choose a path
  Couldn't even conjure a laugh
  No road set before me
No future that I could see
My fear was in a wealth
  I was lost within myself

Ain't no forward in backward steps
Ain't no pleasure in this pain
I've lost more than I've kept
I've missed more than I've gained

(Chorus)
  I couldn't choose a path
  Couldn't even conjure a laugh
  No road set before me
No future that I could see
My fear was in a wealth
  I was lost within myself

Stranded on the highway of life
I looked, but there was no one around
I was alone in this strife
Lost, but never found

(Chorus)
  No path could I find
  No avenues of any kind
  Only an empty horizon ahead
No one to hear what I said
My fear was in a wealth
  I was lost within myself

This is newest song I've written, dated April 4th, 2003.  This speaks from my emotions, and says much about me.  Me being uncertain as to where to go in my life as I am not the sort of person who really plans anything.  I live for the here and now, not the future.  So, this speaks of that uncertainity.  So many things I'd like to achieve, but so little focused interest and such.  The "highway" and "road" sort of references sort of stem from my recent abundance of highway driving following my friend Jason Pavlik's GREAT hard rock band (RedXRebellion) around the Chicagoland area.

On top of everything here, this song was partially spawned while continually listening to "Streets of Philadelphia" by Bruce Springsteen, and thus, I envision "Lost" being sung, mostly, in the same manner.  I even hear Springsteen singing it, in my thoughts, of course.
