“SOLDIERS OF THE NIGHT”
(N. MICHALAK)

Death comes to the day
And you shall all pay

There is no more light
‘Cause here comes the night

Enter a world of shadow
A realm held as hallowed

(Chorus)
We are soldiers of the night
At the break of day we’re gone
  We will stand and fight
  Over a million strong
We rule the streets with might
  From dusk till dawn

Street survivors at our best
And every night, we’re put to the test

We live by our instincts
An ancient breed, not extinct

Warriors of the strongest blood
And for you, we hold no love

(Pre-Chorus)
  Primal hearts of darkness
No longer can you deny this
The day you will no longer miss
As the coming night will be endless

(Chorus)
We are soldiers of the night
At the break of day we’re gone
  We will stand and fight
  Over a million strong
We rule the streets with might
  From dusk till dawn

  We will never ever die
  You cannot kill this army
  Just you dare to try
Soldiers of the night, are we

Once the clock strikes midnight
You will never wish to see daylight

Forever empowered by the darkness
So, abandoned all of your weakness

For fear is not our way
And we do not live for the day

(Chorus)
We are soldiers of the night
At the break of day we’re gone
  We will stand and fight
  Over a million strong
We rule the streets with might
  From dusk till dawn

I can say that this song is partially inspired by the 1979 Walter Hill cult, action classic, "THE WARRIORS".  The gangs of New York City gathered together at the beginning of the film, but as it's stated with the film "10,000 strong" I changed it to "Over a million strong" to represent a worldwide fan base.  A nice song that I still like.  And this song is ALSO partially inspired by the title track of off the KISS album "Creature of the Night".  And though I could see KISS doing this in the same vein, I wouldn't want to.  Truthfully, I can't really picture any band I'm familiar with doing this song.  With my revamped lyrics, I now have a more heavy metal feel to this song, and it would be tough describing the intended sound of the song.  Though, the vocals would be tough, powerful, & heavy, not peircing & searing like that of Rob Halford.  Can't really visualize a singer other than me here.  Guess it could be a signature, vocal song for me.  That is, if I had a band to ACTUALLY make it into a song, per se.  Damn I wish Rob would call me up to hear some new riffs, or just call me up, period!
