I
had this video essentially completed YEARS ago, but I had no way of combining
the audio and video into a reasonable file size. That was, until
QuickTime Pro 6 came around. It gave me just that feature I needed
to complete this very cool music video.
I gathered all the video by way of the various "QUANTUM
LEAP" episodes I had recorded on video tape over the years, but it being
video taped off of television broadcasts, the quality wouldn't be the best
in the world, but sufficient enough. The episode "GLITTER ROCK" has
always been a favorite of mine, if only for the menagrie of songs performed
by the fictional 70's hard rock band 'KING THUNDER' (i.e. "Rock the Redhead"
& "Hot Spot"). When the TV soundtrack was released, only the
song "Fate's Wide Wheel" made it on, out of the few that had been composed
for & featured in said episode. It was disappointing, but this
is a GREAT song that captures much of what Dr. Samuel Beckett (Scott Bakula)
must've felt many times during his years of leaping back and forth through
time Not to mention it really, deeply encapsulates the heart and
emotion of the series.. I have thoroughly enjoyed this song, continually,
for a great many years.
Most of the clips in this video are taken from the various
opening title sequences that the series showcased, but I have many choice
clips from certain episodes in here. I personally enjoy the clip
of Sam ripping out his Jimi Hendrix work on the guitar mid-way through
the video from the episode "STAR LIGHT, STAR BRIGHT". Of course,
a few fine clips from "GLITTER ROCK" make it in here as well. And
I'm certain all of you "LEAPERS" out there will recall what episode the
final clip is taken from.
I surely plan to revisit this video in the future now
that Universal Home Entertainment has begun releasing the series on DVD
by the season (you can purchase them via the DVDEmpire.com affiliate links
to the left). Until all the seasons are released, enjoy this version as
much as humanly possible! |
